A total of 28, 970 workers from 20, 324 companies benefitted from the mandatory and specialized training courses conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) and Occupational Safety and Health Networks in 2021.
This includes 27, 714 new safety officers from 19, 259 companies who participated in the Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) for Safety Officer 1, 40-hr BOSH for Safety Officer 2, 40-hr BOSH for the Public Sector, and Construction Safety and Health Training. And 1, 256 workers from 1, 065 companies who joined the thirteen types of specialized courses.
Under the DOLE Department Order 198-18, all establishments are required to comply with the provisions of the OSH Standards to ensure safe and healthful employment. The designated safety officer shall undergo the necessary mandatory and other OSH-related training to ensure effective performance of his/her duties and responsibilities.
All mandatory and specialized OSH training is conducted online to ensure compliance with the minimum health protocols.
